Get your company involved
Whether it is encouraging your staff in coaching an ex-offender, giving us gifts in kind or offering us a donation, there are lots of ways in which companies and businesses can help St Giles Trust. In return, we can offer you visits to our projects, presentations to your staff and places in our fundraising events such as the London Marathon. Companies such as BT and Gyro International currently kindly lend their support to St Giles Trust.
Professionals Skills Coaching project - this project pairs St Giles Trust ex-offender staff with skilled, experienced professionals in a one-to-one coaching relationship. Many ex-offenders we employ are keen and committed but may lack soft workplace skills due to the fact this may be their first time working in a professional office. This project matches volunteer coaches with professional experience they are keen to share with our ex-offender staff who can benefit from it. Full training is given to anyone who volunteers to become a coach. Our staff benefit from the advice and experience of the professional coaches and the coaches benefit from volunteering skills in a very tangible way.
Gifts in kind and pro bono support - we can often benefit from gifts in kind and pro bono work which can help us keep our overheads to a minimum, ensuring more money goes towards our frontline services. For example, we often need spaces to hold events and meetings. We can make use of a diverse range of specialisms from legal work to film making. For example, film company Leafstorm kindly lent their film making and animation expertise at a vastly reduced price to produce our film The Hard Cell. This film has proved to be invaluable in explaining the nature of our work to funders and commissioners and is often shown in custody to help prisoners prepare for the challenges of life in the community.
Financial support - whether your staff choose us as their Charity of the Year or if you have a team of staff who you think would be keen to run for us in an event, we'd love to hear from you.
